OK so, when does advertising go over the top and become intrusive? This morning I picked up the popular free commuter newspaper the metro. Out of the 78 pages, 18 mention or are totally dedicated to the new Samsung galaxy phones, including the front and back covers. That’s a whopping 23% of the whole paper…don’t get me wrong I know it’s a free paper and relies on adverts, but a 1/4 of the whole publication dedicated to one product?! Of course this is in addition to the billboards, shop fronts and sides of public transport. I mean I know everything to know about this product now, so am I any closer to buying it? No. Probably less so after today.
